Welcome to the Northern Virginia Chinese School (NVCS)!
NVCS was founded in 1989 with the mission to provide a learning environment in Chinese language and culture for the next generation of ethnic Chinese families and non-Chinese community's members in the Northern Virginia area. The NVCS offers Chinese language courses including Phonic & Pin-Yin for students ranging from pre-K to 12th grade that focus on leadership and public speaking training, NVCS also offers Chinese conversation classes to non-Chinese-speaking youths and adults.
Currently, classes are held at the George Marshall High School, located at 7731 Leesburg Pike, Falls Church, VA 22043. All students are enrolled in fourteen levels of Chinese language classes during the hours from 2:00 P.M. to 4:00 P.M. on Sundays from September to June. The NVCS is very proud to offer other elective cultural and athletic classes including Chinese Folk Dance, Karate/Kung-Fu, Drawing/Painting, and Tennis, for Kids; and Line Dance, Tennis, Golf for Adults between the hours of 4:00 P.M. and 5:00 P.M.
NVCS is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to teaching Chinese tostudents in Northern Virginia. It is supported by the volunteer services of 12 administrative officers. NVCS currently has more than 26 Chinese language teachers including Phonic (Traditional) & Pin-Yin (Simplified); and 12 after-class activities & cultural instructors and Teacher Assistants. We are very pleased that a slate of advisors including Anne Chen, Robert Chen, and Mike Chen are also part of the NVCS team.
